Innovative finance initiative for implementation of the 62-mile Cotton Belt regional rail corridor - (PPT)

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Region is bucking U.S. trends as it has been adding jobs, realizing corporate expansion and gaining population growth (projected at an additional 4 million over next 30 years). In this context, the Metroplex is undertaking an innovative and entrepreneurial initiative to fund and develop a 62-mile regional rail transit corridor (the "Cotton Belt"), linking a dozen major cities, DFW Airport and the existing successful DART Light Rail System. Crafting a transaction-focused approach to growing investment capacity within the Corridor, the initiative seeks to establish a sustainable revenue base from the entire economy of the Corridor and the broader regional transportation network to support repayment of long term private and public financing for the rail transit facility.
