Modeling of the Die Parameters in the Tube Sinking Process Using the Finite Element Method

Tube sinking through a conical die is examined with the finite element method. Mises material with work hardening is considered. Boundary friction and shear stress in the deformation zone is taken into account. Stress-strain distribution in the deforming zone, drawing force and the effect of land is shown. Correlations with experimental results are presented. Developed model could explain behavior seen in industrial practice.
