Stability analysis for face milling operation is complicated due to the rotation of the cutting tool and the interrupted nature of the cutting process. This paper involves a procedure for the simulation of static and dynamic cutting forces in face milling operation. Major factors like initial position errors of the inserts and spindle eccentricity are considered for the analysis. The relevant equations are studied and static and dynamic model are simulated. Dynamic force components are obtained by super positioning of the static and dynamic force component at each instant for the multi tooth oblique cutting operation. Simulated force analysis for both static and dynamic are expressed graphically in the time domain.
