Evaluation report on Session 3.2 - applied unsaturated soil mechanics

This paper presents a summary of the topics addressed during the Parallel Session 3.2 on Applied Unsaturated Soil Mechanics. This session included 13 papers of which 10 were presented orally and 3 were reported in the poster session. A list of paperspresented is given in Table 1. The contents of the papers may be broadly classified as Field Monitoring of Water Contents (1), Analytical Study of Groundwater Flow (1), Experimental Study of Material Behaviour (2) and Numerical Simulation and Predictionof Field/Model Tests/Case History and Constitutive Modelling of Material Behaviour (9). Professor Charles W.W. Ng was the Evaluation Reporter, Professor Gerald Miller was the Discussion Leader and Mr J. Vidovic was the Secretary of this session.
