A hybrid air conditioning system consists of a gas engine as a driving source and a single-stage compression and single-effect absorption type refrigerator that can be driven by a motive power and a waste heat from the gas engine simultaneously. It can improve the efficiency of the gas engine heat pump greatly because it uses the waste heat from the gas engine. This paper aims to estimate the performance and construct the control systems to drive this hybrid air conditioning system efficiently by the simulation. The static simulation models of the hybrid air conditioning system were constructed and the performance was investigated using the model. As a result of the simulation, system COP of the design point is about 1.87. And one of the actual control methods to achieve efficient partial load is manipulating two parameters - rotational speed and the hot water flow rate simultaneously. At 50% partial load operation, the performance is 14% higher than that of the design point.
