The California Regional PM_(10)/PM_(2.5)Air Quality Study(CRPAQS)was implemented to develop a gas and particulate matter organic speciation profile database.One of the major objectives of CRPAQS was to determine the contributions of various source categories to episodic levels of fine particles.This manuscript presents data for the portion of this project that focused on volatile organic compounds(VOC_S),in which canister and Tenax samples were collected from source samples.The following sources were included in this project:meat cooking(chicken and hamburger meat),biomass combustion,spark ignition motor vehicle testing,off-road diesel testing and brake and tire wear.Canisters were analyzed using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection(GC/FID)and with mass spectrometry(GC/MS),while the Tenax samples were analyzed using thermal desorption with GC/IR/MS.The Tenax samples were analyzed for oxygenated compounds as well as hydrocarbons.
