Preliminary Statistical Analysis of Intraannual Trends of Ambient Concentrations of Dioxins, Furans, and Polychlorinated Biphenyls in Urban Locations of California

The California Ambient Dioxin Air Monitoring Program (CADAMP) was initiated by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) in 2001. Examination of the results of the CADAMP released by the ARB suggested the likelihood of an annual cyclic trend in the data. Three years of data were normalized and averaged over a single, annual, thirteen moment sampling period. Two statistical methods were applied to four normalized data sets. The data distributions were analyzed and compared, and the data were modeled utilizing commercially available curve fitting software.
