Moderator: Suppose this was your eye that you suddenly developed a choroidal neovascular membrane 750 microns in the center of the fovea and your vision had dropped down to 20/200. How would you treat it, knowing everything that you know?Bill, why don't you start off and we can go around.Dr Mieler: If it was 750 microns from the foveola - subfoveal and extends out 750, what would I do? Probably find a new career. You almost have to stick what is proven benefit, even though it is not maybe the solution that we want. I think I would probably go down the route of either PDT or certainly at least consider the option of anti-VEGF injection protocols. But it is a tough question.
