Structural Study for Bis(iodozincio)methane in Tetrahydrofuran

摘要

Bis(iodozincio)methane(1)which is obtained as tetrahydrofuran solution may change its aggregation form under Schlenk equilibrium.A direct measurement for the solution which had been examined by synchrotron X-ray and neutron made the structure in solution clear.The unique Lewis acidity which has a couple of acidic sites may help the interaction of 1 with 2,3-epoxyalkanol and induces the pinacolone type rearrangement.
