Ni-Catalyzed C-C Bond Forming Reactions of Alkyl Fluorides with Grignard Reagents

Alkyl fluorides underwent unprecedented coupling reaction with 2 equivalents of a CH_2=CHMgCl in the presence of Ni catalyst to afford 2-alkyl-3-butenyl Grignard reagent (1) in good yields.This reaction proceeds efficiently under mild conditions using primary and secondary alkyl fluorides.When PhCH=CHMgBr was employed,dialkylated vinyl coupling product 4 was obtained.
