Treatment of the chiral tripod CpH(PN_(Ment)) ligand with (Ph_3P)_3RuCl_2 in ethanol afforded (L_(Ment),S_C,R_(Ru))- and (L_(Ment),Sc,S_(Ru))-[Cp(PN_(Ment))Ru(PPh_3)Cl] (70% de) in which the cyclopentadienyl and P in the ligand coordinated at the metal center.The (L_(Ment),S_c,R_(Ru))-complex was separately isolated by recrystallization from ethanol-pentane.
