摘要

Multicomponent reactions catalyzed by transition metal complexes have attracted much attention since they offer powerful tools for constructing the desired molecules in a one pot procedure with high chemoselectivity. Numerous examples have been reported recently on the transformation of unsaturated carbonyl compounds to multifunctional molecules with a variety of rhodium catalysts. Especially, rhodium-catalyzed coupling of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, electrophiles, and reducing reagents such as H2 and HSiR3 has been investigated intensively. In this paper, we report the first rhodium-catalyzed hydroaroylation of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds to give α-aroylcarbonyls.
