The oxidative addition of an aryl halide to a nickel(O) or palladium(0) complex is among the most important transition metal elementary reactions,which is involved in a number of catalytic transformations.While the mechanism of the reaction has therefore been a subject of extensive experimental and theoretical studies,the nature of the transition state (TS) of carbon-halogen bond cleavage remains a matter of discussion.
