This chapter is the latest in a series of updates on EC animal feed legislation. It is intended to give a summary of controls adopted in the last twelve months, and those subject to on-going negotiations in Brussels that have a bearing on the feed industry and other relevant stakeholders. The chapter follows on from one prepared for the University of Nottingham Feed Conference in 2004 and attempts to avoid unnecessary duplication of information. Deliberately, it does not include information about the general framework for Community food law (Council and European Parliament Regulation 178/2002) or the Official Feed and Food Controls (Council and European Parliament Regulation 882/2004). Instead, it concentrates on key parts of recent legislation.
