The theme was chosen due to the frequency of treatment of the locomotive apparatus with acupuncture and due to the dissatisfaction with conventional therapies like the use of antiphlogistic therapy or corticoids which need to be applied during a prolonged period of time and which have indesirable symptoms like digestive problems (antiphlogistic therapy) or iatrogenic development of the Cushing syndrome (corticoids).
