^7fThe Girassol field development is located 150 km offshore Angola. In addition to constraints related to the 1,400 m water depth, there are also stringent operating requirements due to flow assurance issues and the need for flexibility to cope with field layout modifications. The field development is based on a subsea scheme with 39 subsea wells (23 oil producers, 14 water injectors and 2 gas injectors) associated with a FPSO and an offloading buoy. A network of sealines, risers, umbilicals and export lines ensures the liaison between the equipment. This development required a lot of innovations such as the three freestanding riser towers, the insulated production bundles and the mid-depth export system that resulted in technical challenges with extensive qualifications of materials and equipment. This paper, after a general presentation of the subsea system, UFL (Umbilicals and Flowlines) and the SPS (Subsea Production System) systems, focuses on the development of the sealine bundles and riser towers. It presents the main steps of their realisation (engineering, construction, and installation) and highlights the main technical challenges and issues, which had to be solved. The first installation campaign started in February 2001 to be completed in January 2002, with a first oil in December 2001. A second installation campaign is being performed first half of 2003.
