A system solution (adhesive, studs and heating technology) for stud bonding has been developed. The process time of 5 s from the application to a fixed stud is comparable to the usual cycle times of stud welding. The minimization of the equipment reduces investment costs enormous compared to conventional mounting methods. This system solution has some considerable advantages in comparison to the conventional mounting methods: 1. No corrosion 2. No interference of the body sheet caused by drill holes or welding processes. 3. Bonding of the studs in the mounting area and on painted surfaces. 4. High flexibility in the mounting area.
