This paper reports on the electrical and spectral characterisation of plasma produced inside of a closed container (as package) filled with helium gas by using a pulsed dielectric barrier discharge in symmetrical configuration of external electrodes. The study is focus on the influence of the voltage pulse parameters (amplitude and width) and the power-on time on the discharge parameters (energy deposited during one discharge pulse and gas temperature) and stability of the plasma produced inside of a closed container. Experimental results show that the energy deposited in the discharge during one pulse increases maximum 4 times, while gas and electrodes temperature increase less than 25% for all investigated range of parameters monitored. The most interesting result refers to reactive species of which spectral emission intensities increase with 40-57%, after 20 min. of plasma operation time inside of a closed container.
