AIRBUS THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC INSULATION MATERIALS AND CONCEPTS

The new requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on thermal and acoustic insulation in commercial aircrafts are a great challenge for the aviation industry. Based on the New Proposal Rule Making (NPRM) there are different ways to fulfill the new requirements. On one hand there is the opportunity to modify the material in order to fulfill the requirements and on the other hand there is the constructive approach. Airbus will incorporate materials that meet the new requirements in the A380 before the FAA rule is established.
