Daihatsu Motor Company developed the world's smallest four-seat fuel cell hybrid vehicle, MOVE FCV-K-2, which is driven by fuel cell hybrid system. MOVE FCV-K-2 approved by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as the first fuel cell mini car for use on public-road test. MOVE FCV-K-2 achieves high system efficiency adopting the hybrid technology combined with nickel metal hydride battery. The fuel cell hybrid system, which is powered by highpressure hydrogen, was jointly developed with Toyota Motor Corporation. The main components (fuel cell, high-pressure hydrogen tank, etc) are modularized by integrated into cartridge type frames, and compactly placed under the rear floor. Adopting a CVT type transmission realized excellent driving performance.
