Difference between mine automation and robotics are analyzed in the paper. Automation is limited by miner-based technology. Mining robot has reprogrammable control of all-purpose working head. One has three shapes: manipulator with supervisory control, autonomous machine with adaptive control or information, mobile information robot. Robotization enables to create non-traditional robotics-based mining with using of new robotics possibilities. Some ideas of robotics use for intellectual mining are suggested in the paper.
