Slurry actions at the multi-wire saw of the workpiece descent-type are studied, and the followings are clear. 1. The slicing grooves are filled by slurry and some bubbles, and the wire running during the processing brings about the slurry flow in the slicing grooves. These bubbles in the slicing grooves join by this slurry flow and the bubbles become air layer around the wire. 2. When the air layer appears around the wire, the slurry is not supplied into the processing area between the wire and the workpiece. And, these phenomena become factors of low slicing efficiency and low accuracy. 3. The slurry can enter in the slicing grooves from the both side surface of workpiece and the blow surface of workpiece due to the slurry flow in the slicing grooves. But, small amount of the slurry is supplied in the slicing grooves in case of the normal slurry supplying method used at the multi-wire saw of the workpiece descent-type, and the phenomena of entered air in the slicing grooves bring about the shortage of slurry.
