We examined a 26-year old woman for proptosis and poor visual acuity in her right eye. She had 8 months with the symptoms. No family history of hyperthyroidisme or neurofibromatosis was found {fig. 1). Ophthalmological examination revealed: Visual Acuity: 5/800 in RE, 20/20 in LE; photomotor and consensial reflex diminished in RE; I0P: 30 mmHg in RE and 15 mmHg in LE. Anterior segment was normal, the lens clear. In the fundus of RE there was a macular edema and retinal folds temporal to the papilla (fig. 2).
