Results: In 9 of the 17 children, the tumors showed internal vascularity (7 cases of hemangioma and 2 cases of Rhabdomyosarcoma). The 8 cases with avascular tumors included: 4 cases of dermoid 2 cases of lymphangioma and 2 cases of orbital abscess. Conclusions: While it is often difficult to reach a diagnosis of orbital soft tissue tumors in childhood solely on the basis of the clinical picture, accurate diagnosis is of utmost importance in establishing prognosis and therapy. Ultrasound and color Doppler imaging, which are non-invasive easy to perform and require no anesthesia, are vitally important in the management of intraorbital tumors in childhood.
