Echographic Characteristics of Senile Disciform Macular Degeneration (SDIV1D)

Purpose: Senile (or age-related) disciform macular degeneration (SDMD) has recently been increasing in the field of clinical ophthalmology. We tried to identify the echographic characteristics of this disease according to stage as a means of contributing to its differential diagnosis.Materials and Methods: The ultrasound equipment used for the examination consisted of St. Marianna's high-resolution ophthalmic diagnostic ultrasonic apparatus, Ophthalmic A-scan/Bscan apparatus, Ophthalmic Digital B-4000 apparatus, and Echoscan US-2000 apparatus.
