During the years 94-97, the emulsion target of the CHORUS experiment was exposed to the Wide Band Neutrino Beam from the CERN-SPS. The experiment was designed to search for neutrino oscillation in the v_μ → v_τ channel. Using 144,000 v_μ charged current (CC) interactions, successfully located in the emulsion target, we have performed a study of the neutrino-production of charmed particles and their decay. We report here on a search for associated charm production in v_μ CC interactions. The detection of one event consistent with this process, never directly observed so far, is presented. A measurement of the production rate of D~0 mesons based on a sub-sample of located v_μ CC interactions will be discussed.
