High temperatures at a combustor exit are essential for realizing high efficiency of the engine during supersonic flight. However, NO{sub}x emission will increase exponentially with increase the combustor exit temperature. A supersonic aircraft cruises in the stratosphere where consists of ozone layer during a supersonic flight. Accordingly, NO{sub}x emitted from the engine may destroy the ozone layer. In the light of environmental protection, stricter NO{sub}x emission control is likely to be enforced, NO{sub}x reduction will become a critical technical issue in realizing a supersonic aircraft.
