This study was conducted to develop the kinetic model of ozone/UV process monitoring the trend of hydrogen peroxide formed in-situ. A specifically devised setup, which could continuously measure the concentration of hydrogen peroxide as low as 10 μg/L, was used. From this kinetic study, it was possible to determine the UV intensity (Io) of photo-reactor and the quantum yields (ΦO3 and Φper) of ozone and hydrogen peroxide and to calculate the hydroxyl radical (OH°) concentrations. The optimum ozone dose was also investigated at the fixed UV dose using the removal rate of UV absorbance at 254nm (A254) in source of dinking water. The result showed that the continuous monitoring of hydrogen peroxide formed in-situ in ozone/UV process could be used as an important tool to operate the ozone/UV process at the optimum condition.
