Heterogeneous chemical reactions of ozone with HBr and HCl adsorbed on the ice surface at the presence of NO and NO2 have been investigated using vacuum flowing gas-discharged device under the conditions, close to stratospheric. Reactions occurred on the thermostated gold reaction mirrors of the FTIR spectrometer supplementary device with grazing angles reflection. It was shown that nitrogen oxides have effects only on heterogeneous oxidation of HBr. The influence of NO reduces to immediate formation of NOBr, NO2 plays the role of oxidizing agent. The processes described can sufficiently enlarge the existing theory of the mechanism of stratospheric ozone depletion.
