Development of the construction scheduling based on fuzzy discrete event simulation for a TFT-LCD plant

For constructing a thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT-LCD) plant, a fuzzy-based scheduling method with discrete event simulation is developed. Apart from typical way for construction scheduling that only cope with quantitative data, fuzzy-based methods provide a proper mechanism for expressing planners' linguistic terms to determine the level of factors that affect the construction scheduling planning. A construction planning process in modeling construction simulation system that applies the fuzzy reasoning and fuzzy ranking is presented here. The purpose of this study is expected to shorten the construction duration in a short computational time. An experimental example is to explore the validity of proposed method and to help TFT-LCD plant builders to manipulate their construction in quantitative and linguistic manners.
