Development of Coal-Water Slurry (CWS) in countries rich in coal but poor in oil

Coal Waste Slurry (CWS) is a clean coal-based fluid fuel that can replace oil. CWS is a very good fuel for combustion and gasification of coal. It has many advantages which have already been proven with use in the world and in China. It is easy to prepare, store and transport. It also has low production cost, high thermal efficiency and good environmental protection in countries rich in coal at low price but poor in oil, it creates favorable conditions for replacing oil by CWS in many ways. This paper introduces CWS technology, the current status of CWS technology development in the world and in China, CWS applications, and development directions in the future.
