Endoscopic-assisted Infratentorial Supracerebellar Approach to Pineal Region Tumors. Experience in 25 Patients

Different approaches to the pineal region has been described with various results. Introduction of microsurgery and modern surgical technology has yielded remarkable improvements. We report our experience in endoscopic-assisted surgery of pineal region tumors.MethodsBetween 1990-2002 we have operated on 25 patients. Preoperative diagnosis was obtained using CT scans and MR imaging. The supracerebellar infratentorial approach with endoscopic assistance was used.
