Data from wind tunnel tests on a timber arch building were used as the basis for identifying and quantifying critical wind loading distributions using the LRC Method. Code specifications for arch buildings generally include an overall load shape expected for wind normal to the arch and uniform pressures from specifications of rectangular low buildings for winds parallel to the building axis. The analysis of the current set of wind tunnel data using the LRC method identified different critical load distributions for overall wind load effects such as uplift, drag, overturning moment and internal bending moments. These load distributions are amalgamated for possible codification.
