The measurement of rotation is covered by a wide field of sensor applications. Angular sensors based on the anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) effect offer the advantage of a robust and reliable solution that can be used in a variety of environments at elevated temperatures (up to T = 175°C). An external magnetic field H_0 that contains the rotational information ω saturates the magnetization in the sensor stripes in a way that the applied magnetic field and the magnetization vectors are (almost) parallel.
