Ten best F_1 single spike progeny lines were derived from F_2 CIMMYT international nursery were tested for varietal evaluation. A semi-dwarf line 51-02 had the highest plot grain yield than the remaining lines and check varieties. The possible reasonfor the highest grain yield in 51-02 could be due to its "tall dwarf' plant height. The subsequent high yielding lines were 4-03 and 14-06. Correlation studies were also conducted to analyze the characters closely associated with final grain yield. Correlation results suggest that plant height and grain yield of main spike had significant positive impact on plot grain yield.
