Genetic study of morphological and biochemical characters Introgressed Into common wheat from Aegihps speltoides Tausch

Genetic potential of wild wheat relatives is a source of new valuable genes for breeders. One of such species, Aegihps speltoides Tausch, a possible donor of B-genome, was used in establishing collection of common wheat lines with introgressions. Genetic and biochemical investigations of lines from this collection have been carried out and are presented in the paper. The number of genes and character of dominance have been determined for such introgressed traits as hairy leaf, glaucousness, spike color, also their interaction with analogous common wheat genes. Gliadin protein composition and lipoxygenase activity level have been analyzed. The possibility of using the studied traits in breeding programs is being discussed.
