Analysis of High Molecular Weight glutenin subunits and waxy proteins in Triticum timopheevii and related species.

High molecular weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GS), waxy proteins (Wx) and corresponding genes present in accessions of Triticum timopheevii ssp. timopheevii (cultivated), ssp. araraticum (wild) (2n=28, AlG) and related species T. militinae (2n=28, AlG), T. miguschovae, (2n=42, A'GD), T. timonovum (2n=56, A~tA~tGG) and T. zhukovskyi (2n=42 A~mA~tG) have been analysed by one-dimensional electrophoretic separation (SDS-PAGE) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results permitted to associate different x-, y-type glutenin subunits and waxy proteins to the different Glu-1 and Wx-1 loci.
