摘要

We studied the photorefractive properties of near-stoichiometric magnesium doped lithium niobate crystals in the near-ultraviolet at 351 nm. Dark-decay behaviors of recorded photorefractive gratings were particularly investigated in detail. We found that they were strongly dependent on magnesium concentrations and the [Li]/[Nb] ratio. This result provides useful information on defects that are responsible for the near-ultraviolet photorefractivity in lithium niobate.
