The authors present a concept of examination of antitank mine properties based on laboratory and military training ground tests done on antitank training mines and on tests carried out on mine models equipped with force and deflection sensors. The models were deprived of combat facilities, but their shape and weight were similar to those of combat mines. The aim of the research was to determine the influence of type, state, and coat thickness of the soil on load transmission from the ground's surface to the lid of the mine fuse. It made it possible to determine optimal parameters for mine sweeping equipment with dynamic effect on both the mines laid in the soil, and those on the ground surface The results of analysis of structures of an antitank mines used by armies in different countries showed that the Polish-made TM 62M mine was suitable for determining technical and tactical requirements for antitank mine model. Such a choice also gave a guarantee that the research on mine models would be carried out in the same conditions as the training mines tests. The results of the research could then be used to verify the parameters of antitank mine models. The tests on static and dynamic influences on antitank mine models and training mines placed in the soil were conducted on the same laboratory stand. Differences in test stand structure resulted from the necessity of changing loading conditions of the mines. The main element of the laboratory stand was the training mine, or the mine model. The mines were laid in the soil, or on the surface of ground, in special experimental metal boxes. Different types of soil were used in the tests. The elements that produce the load and the measurement equipment were adapted to test mines laid in the soil at the military training field. This task will be carried out in the next stage of this work.
