At this Institute, we have taken up a systematic, long-term programme for the generation of equation-of-state data for a variety of materials, over a large range of densities and temperatures. The programme has already given basic capability for some materials, and the resulting EOS tables are routinely used in high-velocity impact and shock-wave simulations. This database is being generated using a variety of techniques available in the literature, including molecular dynamics simulations. A brief description of the methods used, and some results, are presented in this paper.
