摘要

Fatigue is a prime factor affecting the structural integrity and service life of power plant and pressure vessel piping components. Finite element analysis is performed for one pipe using NISA-II software to study the fatigue life. Standard SIF equation is used for determining the K value. Crack growth analysis is performed to obtain the number of cycles for through wall crack. The number of cycles required for through wall crack and the extension of crack length from FEM is found to be less when compared to SIF equation method.
