A simple method of optimization of erbium doped fiber amplifier parameters

In this paper a simple procedure of investigation of erbium doped fiber is described in order to settle its optimal parameters (specially its length) when it is to be applied in fiber amplifier designing. The model is very simple and requires only a little of preliminary measurement. It contains a lot of simplification, nevertheless it allows to determine with a good accuracy the basic parameters of erbium doped fiber amplifiers. The initial data to be applied in this model may be obtained from a few very simple measurements.
