摘要

The present paper reports on proceedings in research on localized loads on sandwich panels. Experimental indentation testing on sandwich panels has been performed as well as theoretical modeling. GRP facings on Divinycell PVC foam cores were considered. The focus in this study has been on indentations at low loads up to and including the initiation of core damage to a sandwich panel. In addition the influence of the indentor tip radius has been investigated experimentally. According to the tests performed in this study the indentation behavior is fairly good predicted with the theoretical model.
