摘要

A simple non-linear regression relationship between the atmospheric optical depth and the standard deviation of daily surface pressure is proposed and tested. The Viking Lander (VL) Meteorology and Atmospheric Opacity Data Set Archive provided the main entries. The regression's accuracy is lower during dust storm season while during "clear" sky periods the accuracy is usually better, the regression accuracy is better at VL2 site than at VL1 site.
