The sequential simulation framework for simulating microstructure evolutions in the heat affected zone (HAZ) of steels using the phase-field and the multi-phase-field methods. This paper presents the sequential simulation of the formation of the grain-boundary allotriomorph ferrite (α_g) and the morphological change of α_g to the Widmanstatten ferrite plates in a Fe-C alloy that is often observed in the HAZ of steels.
