摘要

Welding technology for metallic sheathing of offshore steel structures in seawater tidal and splash zones was described. Seawater-resistance stainless steel SUS 312L sheets were lap-welded on carbon steel pipes with this combined welding method - indirect seam welding and plasma welding. The indirect seam welding enables to reduce rapping material thickness (0.4-0.6mm) and fabrication costs. The plasma welding with Inconel 625 filler wire was applies to prevent crevice corrosion at severer environments. A repair welding procedure was also established.
