Retinal image registration is commonly required in order to combine the complementary information in different retinal modalities. A similarity measure using retinal image vascular networks as feature is presented. In order to compute the transformation parameters, an improved simulated annealing algorithm combined with simplex method(SS) is used to register retinal image. The registration for Fluoroscein Angiography(FA) images with the corresponding Red-Free(RF) retinal images, showed the superiority of our method than the other methods in terms of consistency, speed and accuracy. The method can be used to register other medical images feature.
