In this paper the wave-front aberrations of human eyes were measured with the Hartmann-Shack wave-front sensor developed by Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu. PV and rms values were given, and three-dimensional surface plots and contour maps were presented. The eyes' modulation transfer functions (MTF). were computed from the wave-front aberrations. At last the effects of higher-order aberrations of human eyes on retinal image quality were discussed.
