A modern apparatus and a new method for read-time determining detonation temperature of explosives was introduced in this paper. The apparatus mainly consists of an explosive device, a triggering and synchronizing unit, an optical fiber, a spectrograph, four image intensifiers, four CCD cameras, image and data processor etc. The apparatus can instantaneously give out four detention temperature values in the range of 3000k ~ 5000k from one blasting experiment by measuring the radiation at each wave length produced from detonation and fitting out four spectrum curves of the radiation. The detonation temperature of nitromethane was measured by this apparatus.
