The analysis of P(ρ) curves in the experiments on static compression of materials in diamond anvils and shock experiments indicate the presence of kinks that are an evidence of a change in material behaviors under pressure. When the material crystalline structure remains unchanged, the change in electron structure of solid atoms (i.e., electron redistribution between inner and outer shells) can only account for the kinks. The data on static compression of thorium, uranium, americium, and lanthanide series testifies that the material electron structure changes under pressure.
